This festive season, ICICI Bank has partnered with SankalpTaru, to install 5280 water-saving aerators in faucets across washrooms in public canteens, railway and bus stations, schools and hospitals in Chennai, Delhi and Bengaluru. This will result in saving 11.07 crore liters of water every year. This initiative has helped provide a sustainable solution to those who face the stark reality of water shortage every day.

The 2019 Chennai water crisis had the officials declaring "Day Zero" for the city, the day when almost no water was left, as all the four main reservoirs supplying water to the city had run dry. The 2019 Chennai water crisis had the officials declaring "Day Zero" for the city, the day when almost no water was left, as all the four main reservoirs supplying water to the city had run dry. It was a wake up call for Indian cities and rightly then, ICICI bank decided to take the initiative to recover from the crisis. All corporate schools in the city have been fitted with water-saving aerators. Alongside, major government buildings and offices have been impacted with water-saving aerators. With 2500 aerators installed across the city, the per year water saving of the city is expected to be 5.6 crore liters.

According to a 2018 Niti Ayog report, Delhi is poised to run out of ground water by 2020. A stitch in time saves nine, and by this, ICICI Bank has targeted the capital city and region as part of their #iSave100LitresDaily campaign. The city has gone from being the city of lakes to being the city of concrete, with its water resources disappearing. ICICI Bank's #iSave100LitresDaily water project aims at taking steps towards restoring the city's water resources. 1500 water-saving aerators have been installed across high water consumption locations in the city. Wash areas of Amma Canteens, Namma Metro stations, Government schools and religious shrines across the city have been fitted with the aerators, thereby saving 3.3 crore liters of water per year.
