About the Project
Project Hariyar Jharkhand is part of SankalpTaru's Sustainable Agroforestry category, aimed at
strengthening agriculture and enhancing farmer livelihoods in Jharkhand. Growing urbanization and industrialization in the state have resulted in a significant loss of green cover, while rural farming communities remain deprived of modern agricultural methods — leaving their livelihoods increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The plantation of fruit-bearing saplings under this initiative provides vital livelihood support to the farmers of the state.
Planted across farmlands and community landscapes in Jharkhand, this initiative promotes biodiversity while integrating fruit-bearing trees into the state's rural farming systems.
Through this initiative, agroforestry-based ecosystems deliver:
- Strengthened Agriculture: Introduces modern agroforestry practices to rural farmers, enhancing farm productivity and compensating for lost green cover due to urbanization
- Enhanced Farmer Livelihoods: Diversified income through fruit cultivation provides vital livelihood support to farming communities impacted by industrialization and climate change
- Soil & Water Conservation: Improves soil fertility, prevents erosion, and enhances moisture retention across Jharkhand's rural agricultural lands
- Biodiversity Promotion: Encourages ecological balance by supporting native flora and fauna to restore biodiversity lost to urban and industrial expansion
- Climate Resilience: Helps farming communities adapt to climate change and improves carbon absorption by restoring green cover across the state
By supporting Project Hariyar Jharkhand, you contribute to building resilient farming systems that empower farmers while restoring ecological balance in Jharkhand.

A: Every tree is GPS-tagged, photographed, and monitored through periodic field visits and digital reporting by our on-ground teams.
Q: Do I get a certificate?
A: Yes, a personalised CerTreeficate is sent immediately after your contribution. Plant images with GPS coordinates are emailed within 48 hours of planting.
