About the Project

Mango Magic is SankalpTaru’s initiative to promote mango tree plantation through

agroforestry
, implemented across multiple state-led programs in India. It combines environmental restoration with sustainable livelihood generation. Mango trees (Mangifera indica), deeply rooted in India’s ecological and cultural landscape, enhance green cover while creating long-term value for farming communities.

Through this initiative, mango plantations deliver:

  • Sustainable Income: Regular fruit yield provides a dependable income source for farmers
  • Long-Term Asset: Productive for decades, supporting generational value
  • Soil & Water Benefits: Improves soil health, reduces erosion, and enhances moisture retention
  • Biodiversity Support: Attracts birds, pollinators, and supports local ecosystems
  • Climate Resilience: Adapts well to diverse conditions and contributes to carbon sequestration

By planting mango trees across farms and community landscapes, we enable the creation of resilient ecosystems that support livelihoods and environmental restoration for years to come.

Q: How is a mango tree planted?

A: Saplings are planted by trained local farmers on their fields or by our foresters on community land restoration sites, then GPS-tagged and monitored.

Q: Where are mango trees planted?

A: On farmer-partnered agroforestry land or community barren land restoration program sites across multiple Indian states, chosen for climate suitability.

Q: What impact does it have?

A: Each mango tree absorbs around 22 kg of CO2 per year and delivers long-term fruit income to partner farmers.

Q: Do I get a certificate and plant images?

A: Yes, a personalised CerTreeficate is sent to you as soon as you make an contribution. Plant images with GPS coordinates is emailed within 48 hours of planting (depending upon the prevailing weather conditions at the site)

Q: Is it tax-exempt under 80G?

A: Yes, every donation receives a valid 80G tax receipt under Indian Income Tax Act (we would need your PAN card details for the same)
