Chhattisgarh is one of the richest bio-diverse states of the country and is known as the rice bowl of central India for cultivating paddy as its principal crop. It’s favorable soil, climatic conditions and vast amount of arable land available for cultivation has made it a leading producer of a variety of coarse grains.
With the potential to become a dominant producer of fruit orchards, SankalpTaru Foundation with the help from our donors will help Chhattisgarh agriculture gain a new momentum towards an economically viable phase.
This is being done by introducing agro forestry to the small and marginal farmers which will not only benefit the soil but also the farmers in long run. The fruit bearing trees will act as an additional source of income in the coming years.
