Note: You might have noticed higher contribution oper tree for Zodiac Trees Campaign. These Trees are planted under the Community Barren Land Transformation Program. These initiatives come with higher costs due to several critical factors:
- 1. Challenging Terrain: The areas we select for these projects are often rough or arid, making the initial planting process more complex and resource-intensive.
- 2. Water Arrangements: We must establish sustainable water sources which also include installing micro-drip irrigation system to ensure the trees’ survival and growth, which involves significant investment.
- 3. Fencing: Protecting the trees from grazing animals and other threats requires us to fence the entire area with steel mesh and poles.
- 4. Long-term Maintenance: We employ dedicated personnel from the local community or SankalpTaru staff for a period of five years to maintain and nurture the trees.
Jamun or Black Plum holds a special place in the mythology, where it has been made the zodiac tree of Taurus borns.
So, did you know? The sweet, sometimes astringent, Jamun fruit is the sole reason behind that yummy taste we enjoy in squash, jams, candies and colored jellies. Rich in nutrients, the fruit enhances immune system and gives us a healthy heart.
