Project Bhavnam for Delhi NCR

Trees by you, but a pollution-free habitat for all!
Delhi NCR’s groundbreaking pollution levels reach a new high every year. A sharp increase in PM 2.5 levels results in 10,000 to 30,000 deaths annually, caused due to breathing difficulties and respiratory infections. Coupled with this, the region is facing a severe shortage of drinking water due to receding water tables and increasing water pollution in water bodies in the state.
Realizing the impending crisis, SankalpTaru Foundation has initiated ‘Project Bhavnam’ for Delhi NCR. Project Bhavnam is an aspiring project with an aim to create a lush green jungle at the Aravalli Hills near Manesar, Gurgaon. The jungle created will not only reduce pollution levels in the city but also restore Delhi NCR’s water table in the coming decades. In addition to the above, the forested area also aims to prevent its illegal encroachment and rampant mining for construction industries.

- Proper fencing of the plantation blocks.
- Aravallis house a tough terrain which is hard to dig manually. Therefore, we use earth movers like JCB for the task.
- Maintaining and protecting the forest for the coming 5 years.
- Developing a Biodiversity Hotspot in 5 years, containing trees of varied species, along with herbs and shrubs to attract pollinators and birds in the Aravallis.
